Dr Benjamin Chapman was born and bred outside of the small town of Brandon in the Burdekin district south of Townsville. He went to Brandon State School and Ayr State High School before commencing university studies in 2000. In 2001 he transferred courses to Bachelor of Medicine / Bachelor of Surgery. He commenced his internship at Mackay Base Hospital in 2007, before moving to Moranbah in 2010. In 2014 he moved back to Mackay to work in the Emergency Department of Mackay Base Hospital for 4 years before returning to Moranbah to commence medical services from Oaktree Family Medical Centre in May 2018.
